Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager for the Eldorado Resort is responsible for development and implementation of company-wide HR policies and procedures, recruitment, onboarding, health & safety, training & development, performance management, administration and general employee relations.

What will you be doing? 
Responsibilities and essential job function include but are not limited to the following:

Administration 
  • Provide daily administration of all employee related needs including new hire paperwork, benefits enrollment, employment letters etc.
  • Support management and audit seasonal and annual performance reviews.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of company-wide HR policies, practices and programs.
  • Manage and ensure full functionality of all HR systems.
  • Proactively cultivate and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Oversee WorkSafe claims in a timely manner, promote a safe return to work/stay at work program, minimizing lost time.
  • Assist with employee exits from the organization including the exit interviews, completing required documentation.
  • Manage adherence to HR programs, benefits audit, turnover analysis etc.
  • Assist Payroll Specialist to ensure processes and procedures are followed.
  • Support with the execution of annual/mass wage increases or salary adjustments.
  • Other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Recruitment
  • Foreign Worker Program Management.
  • Manage employee benefits and perks with Payroll Specialist.
  • Lead and support Managers with recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop accurate job descriptions.
  • Source suitable candidates for positions and coordinate interviews with property department managers.
  • Manage annual recruitment events.
  • Support seasonal hiring needs, led by HR Coordinator. 
  • Establish and maintain retention strategies.
Onboarding
  • Facilitate and develop engaging onboarding program of new hires and provide information about the hotel’s history, policies, procedures, while always keeping a positive employee experience in mind.
  • Assist the HR Coordinator in ensuring all compliance related requirements are met, signed off and collected; new hire paperwork, tax forms, seasonal agreements, training, health & safety etc.
Employee Relations 
  • Offer effective coaching for managers and employees, handling confidential information in employee relations matters
  • Assist leaders with performance improvement plans, letters of expectation and written warnings. May participate in conflict resolution and mediation. 
  • Participate in the process of internal investigations as required. 
  • Determine and recommend employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer - employee relationship and promote a high level of team morale.
  • Assist with the selection and coordination of outside consultants, training specialists, and other sources used for training opportunities.
  • Administer annual engagement survey.
  • Assist with coordinating special events and assist with employee recognition activities.

What are we looking for? 
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience, including recruitment, health & safety, administration and employee relations.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources Management or related discipline, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Hospitality expereince in HR or another capacity is highly preferred.
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset.
  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and use good judgement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Able to develop trust and ability to exercise a high level of discretion with confidential information.
  • Organized, with the ability to juggle multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Strong administration and computer skills with enthusiasm for innovation.
  • Keen to learn about the business and how the HR function can support the needs of the business.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings on occasion as required by business needs.
