What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:
- Act as an ambassador for Eldorado Resort
- Ensure that the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are clean and organized
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly
- Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section
- Be aware of what is happening in each section of the restaurant while service is going
- Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity
- Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in OpenTable
- Fill out detailed special requests in OpenTable for birthdays, anniversaries, VIPs, etc., and ensure that all fellow team members are informed
- Communicate regarding reservations and updates with the kitchen to ensure all necessary preparations can be made
- Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers when necessary
- Have complete knowledge of the menu including allergens
- Take to-go and room service orders and perform daily checks for room service trays
- Coordinate with culinary team and Front Desk for daily amenity deliveries
- Understand the payment system and be able to take payment for a guest
- Follow lost and found procedures including collecting items and passing them on to the Manager on Duty or Front Desk (when open)
- Other duties as assigned or required
To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 1-year experience in customer service and/or a restaurant is considered an asset
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry
- Positive attitude and a willingness to think outside the box
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Squirrel and OpenTable considered an asset
- Valid Serving It Right certification
- Must be available during the day on weekdays, as well as flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
